Short and clear on purpose

Sigan records the process of drawing and preserves it as a certificate. It gathers signals — pen motion, pressure, tilt, and timing — so that you may later confirm “how this piece was made.”

You capture your work with the recorder (a desktop application) and issue and verify certificates on the web. These terms apply to both.

The recorder records the coordinates, pressure, tilt, and timing of your pen while you draw in a drawing application, together with the hash of a work file you designate (for example, a .clip file). While you remain logged in, it uploads automatically to your account.

We do not record what you type on your keyboard. While you draw in the drawing application, we only count how many times the undo/redo shortcuts (Ctrl+Z/Y) are pressed, keeping that count as a signal that supports a human-made process (we do not store which keys they were, nor any other input). We do not capture your full screen or other applications, and we do not observe any activity outside the drawing application. If you enable auto-screenshots, only the drawing app window is saved to a folder on your own computer and is not uploaded to our servers (except when you designate a marker as public).

No image of your artwork is uploaded until you attach one yourself. The recorder never uploads a picture on its own. Only when you attach a finished piece is a single copy — scaled to 1024px on its long side — stored alongside the certificate (the original file is not uploaded). You may take an attached image down again at any time.

Login is performed through a Google account. Your account is for your use alone, and keeping your login credentials secure is your responsibility.

Your drawings and their copyright belong entirely to you. Sigan stores and processes the uploaded record and file hash solely as required to issue and verify certificates. You determine whether a public verification link is made public.

A certificate demonstrates that “a recorded process existed.” You may confirm that traces such as stroke flow, timing, and undo actions are linked by a hash chain free of tampering.

• Stealing or forging another person's records, hashes, or certificates
• Calling the service in an automated or excessive manner that disrupts its operation
• Any use that infringes the rights of others or violates the law

You may leave posts and comments in the gallery’s Stories tab and on public works. Anyone may read; anyone logged in may write.

The copyright in what you post remains yours. You grant us a royalty-free, non-exclusive permission to store and display it as needed to show it on screen, include it in lists and previews, and handle reports. That permission ends when you delete the post — though material already captured or quoted by others may be difficult to recall.

The only image you may attach to a post is your own public certified work. Other image uploads are not accepted yet.

Public posts are visible to people who are not logged in. For conversations meant only for people you know, please use groups.

The following are not allowed:

• Sexually explicit material
• Harassment, threats, discrimination, or hateful speech
• Passing off another person’s work as your own
• Other people’s personal information (contact details, address, identity) without their consent
• Advertising, flooding, or automated bulk posting
• Anything else that breaks the law or infringes the rights of others

Children under 14 may not post without the consent of a legal guardian.

You may report a problematic post, and you may block someone so their posts are hidden from your view only (blocking is never announced to them).

Uploaded records and issued certificates are retained for as long as you use the service. To delete them, remove them from your account or contact us. Please note that a verification link that has already been shared and captured by a third party may be difficult to recall.

Posts and comments you leave in the community are deleted when you delete them. A post that has been hidden following a report is not deleted — it simply stops being visible to others — and the report itself is kept so that repetition can be seen. Your block list is visible only to you and can be undone at any time.

Sigan is provided “as is.” We make every effort to operate it reliably; however, our liability for indirect or incidental damages arising from service interruption, data loss, or the interpretation of a certificate is limited to the extent permitted by law.

When we amend these terms, we will post the change here together with an effective date. Continuing to use the service thereafter constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
